Safia
al-Shrafi from the Gaza
Strip is fulfilling a lifelong
dream: to perform the Hajj
in Mecca. But her pilgrimage
to Islam's holiest city
has been a long struggle,
full of grief.
Palestinian ambulance driver
Khaled Abu Sada has been helping to save lives for
over a decade. Recently he has faced difficulties
such as the destruction of his house during Israel's

Das
Leben im Gazastreifen nach dem Krieg
Nach der
israelischen Luft-
und Bodenoffensive
liegt der
Gazastreifen zu
weiten Teilen in
Trümmern. Tania
Krämer beobachtet,
wie die Menschen ihr
Leben neu
organisieren. Sie
trifft Familie
Khdair vor ihrem
zerstörten Haus in
Beit Lahiya - sie
sprechen über ihren
Verlust und ihre Wut
auf die Politiker.
Die Suche nach
Hamas-Sprechern
gestaltet sich
schwierig: sie sind
aus Angst vor neuen
israelischen
Angriffen
untergetaucht. In
Ramattan treffen wir
junge
palästinensische
Kameraleute und
Journalisten. Sie
sind alle zwischen
18 und Ende 20,
haben den Krieg
miterlebt. Zitat:
"Wenn du über die
Zukunft sprechen
willst, dann rede
mit Leuten in New
York oder London.
Aber nicht mit uns."
Video: Donors 'fail to deliver aid to Palestinians'

But, as Al Jazeera's Owen Fay reports, there
is a profound difference between pledges and
the actual payments made.
